Twelve CLC musicians had a rare opportunity to give a lunchtime concert at the Pittville Pump Room on Wednesday 9th November. The event featured performers from almost all year groups and was a wide-ranging programme, which included a vocal group as well as solo violinists, pianists, singers and a flautist.
Running on a fairly tight schedule in order to miss as few lessons as possible, the performers took a short minibus ride to the Pump Room and had the opportunity for a short rehearsal before the concert began. This was particularly important for the pianists, who had only around five minutes each to familiarise themselves with the beautiful Steinway concert grand piano at the venue.
The event was very well attended, with a highly appreciative audience which happily included several of the day girls’ parents. Concert promoter, Andrew Auster, who offered us the concert on behalf of the Cheltenham Music Festival Society, publicly thanked the young musicians, not only for their outstanding performances, but for being such excellent ambassadors for College.
