On Saturday 15th November, LC3 students participated in the MFL Autumn Term Karaoke and Dancing at the PAC Theatre Studio. The weekend programme was a collaboration between the MFL Chinese and Japanese departments.
The LC3 participants enjoyed a choreographed dance to a Chinese rendition of ‘Little Apple’. They also challenged karaoke sing-alongs to ‘Let It Go’ and ‘Clap Your Hands If You're Happy’ after practising the Japanese 46 Hiragana alphabet and its phonics. At the end of class, the students were divided into two groups and competed for the best performance.
As you might know, Karaoke was invented by a Japanese businessman, Mr Daisuke Inoue, in 1971. LC3 students can now sing real Karaoke in Japanese to a popular Disney tune for Christmas parties this year!
