Music Trip To North Italy
12th September 2025

CLC students enjoyed a music trip to Italy during the summer holidays.

Read below for an overview of their activities.

On 6th July, a party of over 50 students and six staff set off on a music tour of the Veneto region in North Italy. The group stayed in a hotel adjacent to Padova’s magnificent basilica, dedicated to St Anthony, in which College Choir sang Mass. They also gave wonderful concerts in Venice, Rovigo and Mantova, which were well attended by locals as well as many CLC parents and family.

The tour party visited Ferrara and the Venetian islands of Murano and Burano. One of the cultural highlights was a trip to Scrovegni Chapel in Padova. The magnificent interior, in the world-famous fresco cycle by Giotto, left everyone stunned.

Pupils had an amazing time, enriched by gelato and Italian coffee. Making music, in the reverberant acoustics of Baroque and Renaissance-era churches, surrounded by vivid frescoes, will live long in the memory.
