National Storytelling Week 2022
8th February 2022

We celebrated National Storytelling Week at the beginning of February and weren’t quite sure what to expect after our virtual experience last year!

A change of venue allowed us to gather in the winter sunshine to hear a cautionary tale about the effects our careless actions can have on the natural world around us – you had to be there to realise just why Mr Williams was wearing the most amazing sparkly eye shadow!

In contrast, Mr Todd, in his stripy storytelling jumper, regaled us with the classic tale of Beowulf. As the students ate their doughnuts, we heard of partying and epic carnage as the monster Grendel was defeated and were left with a potentially enormous cliffhanger… roll on next time!

The tradition of storytelling is an old and revered one, and our storytelling team hope to be back in midsummer to share more tales of strange happenings and ancient things.
