On Tuesday, all UC4 Drama students participated in a workshop led by a professional practitioner from the theatre company Paper Birds. This company produce exciting and innovative devised work, based on contemporary social issues, using verbatim and physical theatre techniques.
All the students threw themselves into the range of activities covered in the two-hour workshop, producing some highly creative practical work. The practitioner commented on their enthusiasm, commitment and the exceptionally high standard of the work produced. This will form the basis of their GCSE devised component and has provided an excellent foundation for them to create relevant and truthful theatre.
