Skiing

Over Christmas, Ines (LC1) was on the ESF (Ecole de Ski Francais) Val Thorens Stage Competition podium, securing first place for both the girls’ Under 14 and parallel races. Ines also raced twice for ESF Stage Competition Val Thorens in the three Valleys “Inter-stage” races in Courchevel and Les Menuires.

Well done, Ines!

Cross Country

Congratulations to Hannah (UC4) on being selected to represent Gloucestershire Schools at the Regional Championships in Exeter this February.

We wish her the very best of luck!

Basketball

On Thursday, we welcomed Sir Thomas Rich’s SFC students to CLC for a basketball fixture. Our team, comprising girls from LC1 through to SFC1, had the opportunity to showcase their teamwork and the superb leadership skills of Jessica, Miki, Nonni and Bella (SFC1).

Another great win, for the team, 60-30!

Rackets

A great afternoon of singles play for our LC students in the 2026 Feather Badminton Championships.

Pupils gained valuable match practice and played in great spirits. Well done to all those who took part, and congratulations to our medalists!

Well done to Fafa (LC2), who came runner-up with 85 points overall, and joint winners, Octavia (LC2) and Fira (LC2), who secured the win with 86 points overall!

On Saturday, the U18 Badminton and Squash teams travelled to St. Edward’s for some great and very competitive matches. For many, it was their first fixture.

On Sunday, eight students completed the first day of their Level 1 Tennis Coaching Qualification. Well done to our students who have shown ambition and dedication in expanding their expertise and strengthening their CVs through this course.

Lacrosse

On Saturday, five teams across all age groups travelled to the St Mary’s Calne Cup.

With the South West 6‑a‑side Championship and the National Schools Lacrosse Championship coming up, the teams have been training and learning how best to adjust their play to reach the knockout stages. Their main focus has been winning the draw, creating space in attack, and working together in defence, supported by excellent communication and some outstanding saves from our Goalkeepers.

Our thanks to Kelly (SFC1), Lottie (UC4), Skylar (LC3), Kayla (LC2) and Esha (LC2) for their incredible contributions!

Hockey

Saturday afternoon saw many U15A and U14A debuts, and we couldn't be prouder of everyone's work, tenacity and progress – some excellent individual and team moments across all teams against King’s School, Worcester.

Well done!

Netball

Saturday was a busy and successful day for Netball, with 14 teams in action against three different schools.

The morning fixtures saw two LC1 and two LC2 teams playing at home against Redmaids School. As the first competitive games back after the holidays, it took a little time for teams to settle, but there was clear improvement as each quarter progressed.

After the fixture, the junior teams used the time to reflect on their performance, recognising the strengths they showed during the game and setting clear goals for the season ahead.

The afternoon continued, with 10 teams travelling to Malvern for a triangular fixture against Malvern and Bloxham Schools.

Well done to all involved, it was a fantastic day of netball!

Rowing

This week, we enjoyed an exciting, action-packed indoor event at King’s School, Worcester. The team came away with excellent results and several personal bests. Aurelie (LC3) delivered a fantastic performance, finishing second in both her timed event and the 500m race. Chloe (UC4) secured second place in her 500m race. Dagmar (SFC1) missed third place in her 2,000m by just one second, but showed real determination and grit by giving everything she had in the 500m race to claim second place.

The excitement continued in the Sixth Form relays, where our team of Iris (SFC2), Ann-Sophie (UC5), Florrie (SFC2) and Dagmar (SFC1) put in a strong performance to finish third in a thrilling race.

We now look forward to getting back to hard work behind the scenes as we prepare for our next competition.
