Over the half-term break, Ariana (UC4) competed at the Kenyan Long Course National Championships, making the final and receiving a medal – well done Ariana!
Another stellar evening of swimming at the 50M Championships, with everyone truly giving their best. Special congratulations go to Georgia (LC2), who lowered the LC2 50m Breaststroke College Record, and Michelle (SFC1), who also lowered the SFC1 50m Backstroke College Record.
We also saw a host of personal bests across all strokes, showing real commitment, confidence, and progress. Well done to everyone involved!
Congratulations to all KS3 and KS4 Badminton players who competed in the National Schools tournament just before half term. We battled it out against Pates, Denmark Road, Leckhampton and Balcarras Schools. Congratulations, in particular, to our KS4 A team, which consisted of UC4 students who came top of their group and recorded some brilliant wins against higher-ranked players.
Annie has played in external Badminton competitions for the last two weekends. Last weekend, she played in Reading and won the Adult Singles Competition, and this weekend she picked up a Bronze Medal in U19 Singles and a Gold Medal in the Doubles. Well done, Annie!
On Saturday, we played St Edward’s School, Oxford, who brought both boys and girls to give our seniors some tough opposition. We came out triumphant, winning 22 out of 35 matches!
On Tuesday, in the beautiful sunshine, we welcomed Collegiate School over to Well Place for some doubles matchplay against our seniors, who have tennis on the field. Well done to all who took part - we had some good wins, and it was great to get some pre-season match play in ahead of the summer term.
On Thursday, our UC4 Tennis leaders completed the core modules of their tennis leadership qualification and have been planning next week’s tennis festival, which they are delivering to Airthrie KS1.
We look forward to watching them in action!
On Tuesday, we held our Senior House Table Tennis event, and students took part and supported the event. Congratulations to our winners, St Mags!

On Saturday, we welcomed Cheltenham College and St Edward’s School to play a three-way fixture across our five Squash courts. The courts were buzzing, and lots of matches were played with many wins.
On Thursday, four UC4 girls performed as guest artists at the Move More Primary School Dance Festival at Cheltenham Town Hall! They were greatly admired by the young children dancing and made a wonderful impression on the audience of over 600 people. Congratulations and many thanks to all those involved.
The First Lacrosse team represented CLC well at the Charlie Waller Trust Tournament, battling each opponent with tactical savvy and proving hard to beat on the day.
The U15 & U14 teams travelled to Sherborne for their South West Regional competitions. Both teams were on form, delivering several strong wins. Impact players on the day for the U15s were Lotte (UC4) in goal and Noa (UC4) on attack. Both players were recognised for outstanding performances by several opposing sides.
A huge congratulations to the U14 team who demonstrated incredible focus, teamwork, perseverance and performance under pressure throughout the day! They went undefeated in the afternoon to win the Plate Final, on a penalty shot in Golden Goal overtime.
It has been a fantastic and busy week of netball for CLC.
On Wednesday, the U12s represented the school brilliantly at the Cheltenham and District Tournament, narrowly missing out on a semi-final place by just one goal. Their teamwork and determination were outstanding, and the squad has great potential for the future.
On Thursday, the U15s delivered an excellent performance in their tournament, finishing an impressive 3rd overall, a superb achievement in a highly competitive field.
On Saturday, 12 teams from LC1 to SFC2 took part in friendly fixtures against The King’s School, Gloucester. All matches were played in great spirit, providing valuable learning opportunities and competitive experience for everyone involved.
Good luck to the U13 netball team, who are representing CLC in the Cheltenham and District tournament tomorrow!
On Saturday, the Senior football team travelled to Cheltenham College to play a round robin tournament against St Edward’s Oxford, Shrewsbury School and Cheltenham College. Throughout the afternoon, the girls made fantastic progress as a team, playing some great football and developing their individual skills. Well done, all!
