Students from UC4 to SFC1 gave a powerful and memorable performance in an adaptation of The Curious Incident of The Dog in The Night-Time, Mark Haddon’s bestselling book.
The whole cast were onstage throughout the performance, and they were integral in creating main character Chris’ world. Using only movement, blocks, umbrellas and projection they created a wide range of locations including train stations, the London Underground and a beach, through original and innovative staging.
The performances given by the students were sensitive and moving, and allowed the audience to empathise with the challenges faced by a neurodivergent teenager.
A special mention goes to UC4 Annabelle who played Chris who, along with UC4 Natasha (Chris’ mother), UC4 Josephine (Chris’ father) and UC5 Rosie (Chris’ teacher), was able to draw the audience into Chris’ experience of the world.
