Those Who Dare
27th November 2025

On Friday 14th November, our Professional Guidance Centre Team hosted our bi-annual 'Those Who Dare’ event, a networking opportunity for pupils to talk to professionals from a variety of sectors. Read an overview of the event from one of our guests, Bethany, below.

“I have attended a variety of careers events at CLC over the past few years, spanning short presentations to stall-based events, interacting with students from younger year groups all the way up to Sixth Form.

“As an archaeologist, many students find my job interesting and love to ask about ‘Digging for Britain’, and what my best find has been. However, few have ever considered that it could be a career, and a varied one at that. Through these events, some students have been very curious about what archaeology is and what a career in it might entail. A personal highlight for me is that a student, Emma, who attended one of the events I participated in, has now gone on to university to study Archaeology.

“Even with students who have no interest in archaeology as a career, it has been a delight to talk to them about university life, what studying for a PhD entails, and how choosing subjects they enjoy might lead to an unexpected and exciting career. Seeing the students at CLC so engaged has been a delight.

“I look forward to continuing to attend these events at CLC, hopefully inspiring students to consider careers that they find interesting based on subjects they enjoy, even if they are more obscure.”
