As part of our Maths Enrichment Programme, twelve students from LC2 and LC3 were selected to take part in a series of Friday morning sessions. Throughout these sessions, students worked collaboratively in groups of four, tackling a range of mathematical challenges, including group problem-solving tasks, core number questions, and fast-paced shuttle rounds. These activities were designed to strengthen their mathematical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
Following several weeks of preparation, one team was chosen to represent CLC at a prestigious maths competition held at Pate’s Grammar School on Monday 9th March. The event brought together teams of four students from a number of schools, with each round testing different mathematical skills and strategic approaches.
Our students rose to the challenge brilliantly. They demonstrated not only excellent mathematical ability but also outstanding teamwork and resilience in a highly competitive environment. The competition was incredibly close, and we are delighted to share that the team achieved an impressive third-place finish, missing out on second place by just three marks.
Most importantly, the students thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It was a fantastic opportunity for them to challenge themselves, meet peers from other schools, and grow in confidence.
We are incredibly proud of how they represented CLC. It was a privilege to accompany them to the event.
