Wellbeing Party 2022
13th July 2022

The Wellbeing Party, held for all pupils and staff at CLC on Friday 1st July, filled me with happiness. It was marvellous to look out across the College lawns to see everyone relaxing, laughing, chatting and participating in the many activities we laid on for this festival of fun. Haybales, bunting and our beautiful gardens were the perfect setting for all we had planned.

The Pets as Therapy dogs were with us once again, and we also enjoyed circus skills workshops with the School of Larks. Gales of laughter could be heard from pupils and staff who joined in the belly dancing workshops and there was even more merriment with a pop-up photobooth, samba drumming, street dance, yoga under a tree, as well as various outdoor games such as croquet, bowling, table tennis, giant Jenga, quoits, Swingball, outdoor giant snakes and ladders, and other games.

We were relieved that the predicted rain held off for us, and our brilliant catering team ensured we were treated to strawberries, ice lollies and other delights. Having strawberries served, with the tennis at Wimbledon as a backdrop on a large screen nearby, felt rather suitable for our summer party!

The celebration launched a wonderful weekend of marvellous activities, culminating in the community afternoon and dance-off competition on Saturday. These really were joyous occasions and it was brilliant to see staff and students relaxing, and having great fun together.

Of course, events such as these are so successful thanks to the exceptional help we receive from colleagues. We are especially grateful to the fantastic members of the support staff, such as administrators, ground staff, caterers, porters, security, IT and Tech Support, and many more. They do so much on a daily basis to ensure the smooth running of College and we couldn’t manage without them. They all deserve a huge thank you for all they do behind the scenes to contribute to a unique and excellent experience at CLC!
