On Wednesday 12th October, nearly 100 members of the College community and parents enjoyed a spell-binding evening of music given by our SFC2 (Year 13) Music Scholars.
This event is always a highlight of the school year and a really rather a special evening given by our Scholars, as it is one of their last solo opportunities as they come towards the end of their time at College.
As music staff, we have seen them grow and flourish into the musicians that they have become and it is a joy to hear such wonderful music from them.
The concert began with some wonderful organ music: Elegy by George Thalben-Bell, most recently played at the Queen’s funeral, before we sat back and enjoyed a wide and varied programme of repertoire by Bach, Chopin, Liszt, Messiaen, Copland and Sarasate to name a few.
The students’ performances were utterly faultless and it was such a pleasure to see such joy on their faces.
