Since September, students from across Cheltenham have been meeting for a series of expert-led poetry workshops, designed to inspire creativity and self-expression.
These sessions culminated in the thrilling and prestigious Young Poets’ Poetry Slam competition, which we hosted at the Parabola Arts Centre on Tuesday 6th May. The event brought together 25 young poets from seven schools, each performing their original work in front of an enthusiastic and supportive audience. The atmosphere was electric, with students demonstrating a remarkable range of voices and styles.
We would like to extend our warmest congratulations to Kate (LC3), Mimi (LC2), Morayo (LC3), Sochi (LC3) and Vanessa (SFC1) for their outstanding contributions. Their poetry involved depth and originality, and their performances were delivered with confidence and skill. Their work truly exemplified the power of the spoken word, and we are incredibly proud of what they have achieved.
