Celebrating Success at the Young Fashion Designer UK Competition

We're excited to share that Penny (UC4) was crowned the national winner in her age group (Year 10-11) at the Young Fashion Designer UK Competition.

This year’s national theme was Wear The Change. Penny entered her first prize-winning entry from the CLC Upcycled Fashion Show, supported by extensive background research. Over the weekend, she shared her work with industry professionals at the finals at RGS Worcester.

Having been selected as one of four finalists in the UK Young Fashion Designer Competition, Penny (UC4) was chosen as the national winner in her age group (Year 10-11)!

For the final, Penny had to submit a film showcasing her work and her design mission and vision. She had to present her garment, answer questions from the judging panel, and participate in a creative workshop.

This is a brilliant achievement and so well deserved. Penny worked incredibly hard and totally independently, spending many hours on her research, presentation boards and film, in addition to making her outfit!
