Celebration Day
Celebration Day
To celebrate coming through our ISI inspection so brilliantly, and to acknowledge all the hard work and dedication of students and staff, we held a whole-school celebration last week. In preparation for this special treat, we asked for the opinions of our students, and from these, we planned a wonderful day that everyone enjoyed immensely.
Especially well received was the opportunity for a lie-in for all students, with a later start to the day, followed by a delicious brunch in houses.
Later, we held the sensational House Dance Competition for Lower and Upper College students at the Health and Fitness Centre. This annual competition is a firm favourite in the College calendar, and the cheering and energy reflected the joy and exuberance of participants and spectators alike. It was stupendous, and launched our afternoon celebration marvellously!
The afternoon, with a summer fete feel, felt like a perfect way to spend time with one another at the HFC. With much organised indoors, and making use of plenty of shade due to the very warm weather, our celebration offered us all the time to savour being together. We were treated to delicious refreshments while students and staff were welcome to relax in shady areas or join in with an array of fun-filled activities: circus performers and circus workshops; a craft and barn dance workshop; samba drumming; giant inflatables; a birds of prey interaction, and all manner of indoor and outdoor games.
We had a tremendous time and agreed it was another fantastic College occasion that was great for our wellbeing and sense of community. An ideal way to make more happy memories and celebrate another successful year at CLC!
