CLC STEM Racing Teams Impress at Regional Final

Four STEM Racing teams delivered outstanding performances at the Shropshire Regional Final.

On 24th February, 24 students competed for a coveted place in the national finals. The event demanded a high level of preparation, with each team required to present a detailed pit display, a five‑minute verbal presentation, an enterprise portfolio, a technical portfolio, rendered design images, technical drawings, and a miniature F1 car built for track racing. All teams rose to the challenge, displaying exceptional teamwork, creativity and professionalism throughout the day.

When the results were announced, every team celebrated notable achievements:

Helios recorded the second-fastest car on the track, missing out on first place by just 0.004 seconds - a margin of only four thousandths of a second!

Drift Racing secured a top‑three finish for Best Research & Development Portfolio across all classes.

Six Spades impressed the judging panel to earn the highly coveted Judge’s Choice Award for the entire event.

Pegasus achieved third place in the Development Class, placing them in the draw for a potential wild-card entry to the National Finals.

Staff praised the tremendous amount of work invested by every team. Well done, all!
