CLC x St Hilda’s East Weekend Highlights

CLC x SHE Weekend Highlights

Last weekend marked our very first SHE–CLC Weekend, and what a fantastic occasion it was. We are proud to share that an incredible sum of over £2,400 was raised in support of St Hilda’s East.

'In Bloom' Art Exhibition

On Friday, we were excited to welcome the St Hilda’s East Over 50s group for lunch at St Hilda's House, followed by a visit to the PAC for our collaborative ‘In Bloom’ art exhibition. It was a wonderful opportunity to share creativity and community spirit.

CLC-SHE Marathon Challenge

On Saturday, over 250 pupils from LC1 and UC4, together with more than 10 members of staff, truly went the extra mile. Over 160 pupils ran on Field, while 90+ pupils walked as part of their DofE, collectively covering an incredible 881.7 miles in support of Mrs Edney.

The original aim was to cover 112 miles – the distance from Cheltenham Ladies’ College to St Hilda’s East, but this target was comfortably exceeded during the hour‑long event. Each House competed to run the furthest distance, and the CLC–SHE Cup will be awarded at the Cups and Awards ceremony later this term. Along the way, participants also completed a range of fun challenges.

The energy, enthusiasm and commitment displayed throughout the event were truly inspiring to see.

London Marathon

The weekend concluded with the London Marathon on Sunday, where our Head of College, Mrs Edney, ran to raise funds for St Hilda’s East.

Following months of dedicated training, she delivered an excellent performance, completing the marathon in 5:02:08 and crossing the finish line at 4.02pm.

On the day, Mrs Edney was warmly supported by members of both the CLC and SHE communities, making it a truly special and memorable occasion.
