Congratulations to our GCSE Pupils

Pupils at Cheltenham Ladies’ College are celebrating outstanding GCSE results today, with 9/8/A* grades making up more than two thirds (71%) of results.

By far the most common grade among pupils was the highest possible grade 9, accounting for almost half (45%) of results.

Across the cohort, around 9 in every 10 results (87%) have been awarded 9-7/A*-A grades.

Eve Jardine-Young, Executive Principal continued: "We wish all our Year 11 (UC5) pupils a joyful term ahead as they now engage with their Sixth Form A Level and IB Diploma programmes with such a strong and confident foundation to build on."

Head of College Jemima Edney said: “I am extremely proud of all our students who have received their excellent GCSE results today. They have achieved these alongside a vast array of impressive co-curricular achievements, volunteering and many innovative and creative HPQ projects.”

Dr David Gambin, Vice Principal Academic, added: “These excellent GCSE results are a chapter in a much bigger story. They reflect not only academic achievement, but also the curiosity, courage and compassion shown by a remarkable group of young women throughout their time here.

"I would like to thank our pupils for their hard work, perseverance and determination, our passionate staff for their unwavering commitment and expertise, and our parents for the encouragement and support they provide every day. These achievements are the result of an extraordinary collective effort across the entire CLC community. Most of all, congratulations to our pupils."

45% top 9 grades

Almost half (45%) of GCSE results at CLC were awarded a 9, the highest possible grade.

71% of grades 9/8/A*

More than two thirds (71%) of results were awarded 9/8/A* grades.

9 in 10 grades 9-7/A*-A

Around 9 in every 10 results (87%) have been awarded 9-7/A*-A grades.

These fantastic achievements follow on from the school’s impressive A Level and IB results released last month. The Sixth Form Class of 2026 achieved more than two thirds (69%) with A* - A grades at A Level and an average of 40.6 points (equivalent to four A* grades at A Level) for the International Baccalaureate.
