Higher Education and Careers Fair 2026

Higher Education and Careers Fair 2026

Before half term, the Professional Guidance Centre held their annual Higher Education and Careers Fair, providing an inspiring and informative experience offering valuable insights into a wide range of future pathways for pupils in UC4-SFC1. The event brought together an impressive selection of representatives from universities, employers, and organisations across the UK and beyond.

Pupils had the opportunity to engage directly with university representatives from leading UK institutions including Aberystwyth University, University of Exeter, Imperial College London, Lancaster University, University of Leeds, Newcastle University, Oxford Brookes University, University of Sheffield, UCL, and from just down the road, the University of Gloucestershire, alongside international renowned universities such as EHL Hospitality Business School in Lausanne, IE University in Spain, and Study Options representing universities in Australia. These conversations allowed students to explore academic opportunities and the application process, helping them make more informed decisions about their next steps.

In addition to higher education providers, the fair featured a variety of alternative pathways. Representatives from The Army and RAF provided information on careers, training opportunities, and routes into service. Gap year organisations such as Fresh Tracks Chalet School, Ski le Gap, and POD Volunteer offered advice on meaningful experiences abroad, while Crawford and Corry highlighted opportunities to develop practical skills and enhance future applications.

Overall, the fair was a valuable and engaging event, equipping students with knowledge, inspiration, and confidence as they begin to plan their post-16 and post-18 journeys.
