House Music 2026
On Thursday 17th September, more than 500 students gathered in Princess Hall for an evening that celebrated not only musical excellence, but also the creativity, leadership and sense of community that lies at the heart of CLC.
Following weeks of preparation, the seven Junior Houses took to the stage with confidence, ambition and an extraordinary commitment to one another. Each House delivered a performance of exceptional quality, combining musical skill with originality, imagination and a clear sense of House identity. The result was an evening that showcased the breadth of talent across College.
What makes House Music particularly special is that it is entirely student-led. Guided by UC5 students, each House develops its performance from the ground up, with students taking responsibility for every stage of the creative process. From selecting and adapting repertoire to arranging vocal and instrumental parts, shaping artistic interpretations, leading rehearsals, and making key musical decisions, students work collaboratively to bring their ideas to life.

I am particularly grateful to Houseparents for their enthusiasm and encouragement of students throughout the rehearsal process, and to the many colleagues across College, both seen and unseen, whose contributions helped make the event such a success.
Special thanks go to the Leadership Team for their support throughout the evening, and to the Music and Administrative teams, whose hard work, expertise and dedication behind the scenes ensured that every aspect of the event ran smoothly and successfully.
A huge thank you must also go to Mr Tom Carr and the SFC performers for their outstanding interval performances, which entertained the audience superbly while the adjudicator considered their decisions.
