Inside CLC: "I love how supportive everyone is"

Inside CLC: "I love how supportive everyone is"

We spoke to one of our Day students about what they love most about CLC, good school slang, their favourite teacher, the best school events and their favourite food options. Here's what they said...

What do you love most about school?

I love how friendly and supportive everyone is.

There’s always someone willing to help, and it creates a really strong sense of community.

Who is your favourite teacher and why?

My favourite teacher is my History teacher because she makes every lesson exciting and helps us understand the topics.

What is the food like?

The food here is amazing - we get plenty of choice and can go back for seconds, just like a buffet. Everyone loves the bao buns, pasta bar, and curly fries. Match days are also a highlight because we get our favourite cookies and juices.

Do you feel supported?

There are plenty of teachers and older students who are really easy to talk to.

The school takes wellbeing seriously, and we often have sessions about how to reach out for help and the support services available when we’re not feeling our best.

Can you tell us any school slang?

Our school has lots of fun slang for different places. For example, the “bunny run” is a narrow staircase leading to the Religious Studies block, and the “milky way” is one of the hallways we all pass through.

What is the most looked forward to event?

I love all the house events, competitions, and school concerts. House Music at the start of the year always gets everyone buzzing, and House Trashion - where each house designs an outfit from recycled materials - is competitive but so much fun.
