Junior Concert

We were treated to 14 wonderful performances at this year’s Junior Concert, which took place on Saturday 20th June, in front of a large audience of staff, students and parents.

There was outstanding singing from the get-go from Elsie and Nora’s musical theatre numbers and Poppy’s clear tone in her Vivaldi aria. We had refined string performances by violinists Amelia, Alice and Alexandra on the cello.

Piano items were pieces composed by Mendelssohn and Ilynsky performed confidently by Alexandra and Yoyo, respectively, and Fira, Moana and Eli “blew” us away with advanced flute pieces. At various moments of her performance, Eli got the audience collectively chanting out “Mambo!” with her exciting piece by Bernstein, and Alisa performed a complex rhythmic item on the oboe.

The last two performances were very contrasting, as we had Vincci’s energetic marimba number followed by CLC’s trombone “Slide Trio” made up of Nona, Noemie and Moana, who, after only having had lessons for 6 months, performed confidently to end what was a really delightful concert.
