Cross Country
A huge well done to all our runners who represented College at the District Schools Cross Country Championships, competing across the Minor, Junior and Inter races.
The course at Ashley Manor Prep is undoubtedly one of the toughest on the circuit, with its infamous hill providing a real test of both physical and mental endurance. However, our runners rose to the challenge brilliantly, demonstrating tremendous determination, grit and resilience as they tackled the demanding terrain.
A special mention must go to our LC1 runners, many of whom were experiencing their first District Schools Championships. Competing in a large and competitive field, they showed fantastic perseverance and should be incredibly proud of their efforts.
Our Inter runners also deserve particular recognition, as their race coincided with a dramatic change in the weather. Their character was certainly tested, but they dug deep and showed tremendous resilience and determination to keep pushing through.
There were also some excellent individual performances, with Enise (LC1), Annabelle (LC2) and Hannah (UC5) all securing particularly strong finishing positions. Congratulations to all three on their impressive efforts, and fingers crossed that their performances will be enough to earn them selection for the County Championships!
Above all, it was wonderful to see the determination, perseverance and team spirit displayed across all three age groups.
A fantastic collective effort and a brilliant display of character from everyone. Very well done, Team CLC!
Rackets
On Saturday we ran our annual Squash and Badminton schools tournaments. We welcomed Millfield, Denmark Road, Cheltenham College, Downe House, Bloxham and Malvern College.
We fielded 3 teams for Badminton and the same for Squash. Well done to our U18 Squash players Caitlyn, Melody and Zahra who beat Cheltenham College 69 points to 64.
In the Badminton tournament, our U18 came 3rd, and our U16A team came 2nd. A very high standard of play all round.
Well done to everyone who took part!
On Sunday we had 18 students playing in a grade 5 and grade 6 LTA tennis tournament, which ran from Well Place.
The standard was outstanding. This involved other players from other counties and clubs.
It's fantastic to see the progress our students are making and to watch them put skills learned in their lessons and extras into match plays.
Hockey
The U14b's qualified to the regional hockey tournament after finishing runners up in an eight-team competition.
Huge congratulations to the girls who have shown great commitment to improve!
