Summer Concert 2026

Summer Concert 2026

Last week, we came together as a community for the annual Summer Concert, celebrating the breadth of musical talent across College.

The concert opened with a performance of the National Anthem, followed by an energetic rendition of Gangnam Style by the Symphonic Wind Band. The audience was then treated to performances from the Lower College Choir, Chamber Choir and College Choir, with highlights including A Thousand Years, Earth Song, Hail Holy Queen from Sister Act, and Toxic from Pitch Perfect 3.

The Jazz Band also impressed with lively performances of Feeling Good and Too Darn Hot, showcasing the versatility of the College’s musicians.

The evening was particularly poignant as it marked a farewell to Mr David Lloyd, Director of Music. We would like to thank him deeply for everything he has done to bring CLC’s Music Department to where it is today, both recently as Director of Music and more widely through his 25 years of service to College.

In recognition of his remarkable legacy, the programme concluded with the Symphony Orchestra under David Lloyd’s baton. The final performances included a violin concerto by SFC2 Music Scholar Julie, followed by the powerful and uplifting final movement of Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9, a memorable end to a wonderful evening of music.
