Summer Successes in Sport
Over the summer, pupils achieved outstanding successes across a range of sports, including tennis, hockey, dance and athletics.
Read on for all the highlights.
Tennis
Leanne (UC4) gained her first ITF ranking point, a significant milestone in her tennis journey. Securing a first ITF point marks the transition from aspiring player to recognised professional and will see her earn a place on the ITF World Singles Rankings.
Huge congratulations, Leanne!
Hockey
Tasha and Ava (UC3) represented West Panthers at Nottingham Hockey Centre at the regional tournament. Both girls did fantastically well and now have trials for the England Hockey Talent Academy.
Alice (UC5) represented Bristol at the England Hockey Talent Academy Cup. The tournament provides a platform for talented young athletes to showcase their abilities and be identified for potential selection to England's junior age-group squads.
Well done, all!
Dance
Xuan Xuan (SFC2) earned two gold medals and was awarded the Best Performer in Ballet (Senior Division) trophy for the second consecutive year at the Hong Kong Challenge Cup Dance Competition. She then travelled to Shanghai to compete in the Asian Elite Dance Competition Grand Finals, where she achieved an impressive second-place finish and was invited to perform in a contemporary piece for the gala showcase.
Congratulations, Xuan Xuan!
Athletics
Grace (UC5) competed for Cheltenham Harriers Athletics Club at the Youth Development League Final in Liverpool last weekend, where she threw a new personal best and secured a silver medal in the B Final.
Well done, Grace!
