Those Who Dare
Those Who Dare
Last week, we held our Those Who Dare event, welcoming guest speakers from all parts of our College community for an insightful afternoon of networking.
As many Guild members were joining us for the Guild Reunion, on Saturday 16th May, we took the opportunity to welcome them a day early to our last networking event of the year.
We started the afternoon with a panel event for our LC1 and LC2 students, who had the opportunity to hear from our panellists and ask questions. There was a big gasp from the audience when one of our guests shared the story of missing her university offer. She spoke to students about learning to deal with failures and the importance of building resilience. There was a big emphasis on encouraging everyone to pursue what they like and enjoy.
Seeing students engaging in conversations with people whose career paths may not necessarily be what they are interested in pursuing themselves is a real success.
This showcased not only pupils' communication and networking skills but also their ability to recognise the value in different career paths.

We are now looking forward to organising next year's events and welcoming speakers to share their experiences across all fields, with our inquisitive and curious students.
Many thanks to everyone, both our Guild and non-Guild guests, who contributed to such a stimulating afternoon.
