The name of St Helen’s goes back to the earliest days of College, and a decade after the school opened, St Helen's become the first College-owned boarding house. Between 1897 and 1910, St Helen's housed the elementary section of CLC's residential teacher training college, before moving location and reverting to a College boarding house.
In the early 1930s, St Helen's moved to it's current location as part of a building project to celebrate the centenary of the birth of Dorothea Beale, College's longest-serving principal. More recently, St Helen's underwent an extensive programme of renovations during the academic year 2015-16.
"I joined College in September 2008 as Housemistress of St Margaret’s and thoroughly enjoyed my six years in post. I then taught PE for seven years including the role of Head of Netball. I continue to teach senior netball which I absolutely love and it is great to see the girls in a different environment.
I became Housemistress of St Helen's in September 2021 and I love getting to know the girls, their families (plus pets!) and pride myself on creating a calm, supportive environment in which everyone can air their thoughts or concerns.
St Helen's is blessed with a wonderful cohort of staff with vast amounts of experience. We all work together to create an environment where the girls can really thrive."
