Professional Guidance
Girls at College are ambitious for their futures. Our dedicated Professional Guidance Centre (PGC) offers a wealth of insight, expertise and opportunity to help encourage, guide, support and embolden the girls as they strive to find the right path for them.
Girls visit the PGC from their very earliest days in College, enabling them to make informed choices at key times during their school life. This approach promotes independence, nurtures confidence and encourages the girls to feel excited about what lies ahead.

The PGC has seven dedicated members of staff to support girls with the many choices and wide range of options available to them. The centre runs comprehensive programmes to support girls applying for higher education, both in the UK and abroad, including specialist provision for US and Oxbridge applications.
With a view to informing longer term decisions, regular higher education and careers events are held, including conferences aimed at future medics, vets or lawyers, mock interviews, networking dinners, and CV writing workshops. We also offer an extremely varied programme of careers talks, from hedge fund management and the airline industry to fashion design and PR, and also support girls in finding invaluable work placements.
The PGC staff specialise in areas ranging from US universities to professional networking and are often supported by members of Guild (alumnae), parents and local and national businesses. The centre also has an extensive library and IT research facilities.
No matter what path a girl wishes to take, whether it's graphics at a specialist design school or PPE at Oxbridge, the PGC has the knowledge, resources and expertise to support them.
