Students Interview Laura Bates
We recently welcomed bestselling author, feminist, and activist Laura Bates to College. Laura gave two inspiring talks, sharing her experiences, research, and advice with students.
During the visit, students and English Reps had the opportunity to introduce Laura’s talks and interview her beforehand, discussing gender equality and the importance of challenging gender inequality. Students also gained insight into her work as an author and activist, and learned about the Everyday Sexism Project.

It feels overwhelming when you look at the whole landscape of gender inequality, but if each of us chips away at one small thing, then suddenly we make a lot of progress.

Following the sessions, all students were able to take part in a live Q&A, speak to Laura after her talk, and take part in a book-signing event.
Both talks were informative and inspirational, and Laura's work encouraged students to consider their own role in creating change, one small step at a time.
