CLC US Futures Programme Launch

This year, the Professional Guidance Centre (PGC) launched the new CLC US Futures Programme, a four-year pathway supporting students from UC4-SFC2 who want to explore university options in the US.

The programme launched with the SFC1 cohort last week, with the UC4 cohort to follow next week, and UC5 after half-term.

Encompassing a range of activities, including Admissions Talks, regular 1-to-1 and group sessions, and SAT and ACT preparation, the programme is designed to provide students with expert guidance to explore higher education opportunities in the US.

Admissions Talks

Through a series of virtual and in-person admissions talks, students will gain valuable insights into life at US universities, the application process, and what admissions officers look for in successful applicants.

1-to-1 Sessions

Every student will be assigned a counsellor, who will support them throughout all four years. This personalised approach allows students to receive individual advice and support as they develop their ambitions and university plans.

SAT and ACT Preparation

To ensure students are fully supported in preparing for standardised testing, weekly SAT and ACT provision in both English and Maths will be available for SFC1 students.

Group Sessions

UC4 and UC5 sessions will focus on key areas, including understanding the higher education landscape, building a competitive profile, understanding the admissions process and an introduction to the essay writing process.

This new programme reflects our commitment to individualised support, helping students access opportunities around the world and fostering fearlessness.
