Beale

Beale is named after CLC's longest serving Principal, Dorothea Beale. Built in 1985, Beale is equidistant from the academic teaching site and 'Field' - the College sports facilities, housing our state-of-the-art Health and Fitness Centre.

Within Beale, students each have an individual bedroom, along with communal study spaces, bathrooms and common rooms. The House interconnects with Cambray, its sister House, and they share a communal dining room, drawing room and large enclosed quadrangle garden.

From the Houseparent

"I am joining CLC in September 2025 having previously been a Houseparent and English teacher at Taunton School and a teacher of EAL at Dean Close School. I live with my husband Ieuan who also works in an independent school. Cheltenham is my home town and I love nothing more than spending time with friends and family enjoying the town's many festivals, green spaces and coffee shops. During the holidays, I enjoy walking and long-distance hiking throughout the UK and Europe.

As Houseparent, I aim to foster a welcoming, inclusive and creative space where students will feel happy and safe. I look forward to working alongside a dedicated and experienced team of House Staff who provide a caring home for our students. I believe in the power of lifting each other up, breaking barriers and paving the way for our own success. Sixth Form boarding at CLC provides an excellent balance of friendship, personal development and preparation for life beyond College where every student can flourish as an individual."
