Success and Achievements Spring Term 2026
31st March 2026

This Spring Term, CLC students have continued to demonstrate exceptional curiosity and commitment, achieving remarkable success across a range of disciplines.

From outstanding results in national and regional tournaments and competitions, these achievements reflect both the intellectual rigour and the joy of learning that define College.

Biology Olympiad 2026

This year, over 50 SFC Biologists took part in the British Biology Olympiad, a national competition organised by the Royal Society of Biology. CLC students achieved one of the best sets of results our school has ever had, with five Bronze awards, seven Silver awards, and an incredible eight Gold awards.

A special congratulations goes to our eight Gold award winners, Sabrina, Jennifer, Fraya, Mohan, Jessie, Mika, Tiffany, and Emily. Achieving Gold places them in the top 5% of the 19,000 students who entered the competition nationally.

As a result of this outstanding achievement, all of them were invited to sit the National Team Selection paper, which could lead to being selected for the British Team at the International Biology Olympiad in Lithuania this summer.

STEM Racing Regional Final

On 24th February, 24 students competed in the STEM Racing Regional Finals. The event demanded a high level of preparation, with each team required to present a detailed pit display, a five‑minute verbal presentation, an enterprise portfolio, a technical portfolio, rendered design images, technical drawings, and a miniature F1 car built for track racing.

All teams displayed exceptional teamwork, creativity and professionalism throughout the day, with each team celebrating notable achievements.

UK Maths Competition 2026

As part of our Maths Enrichment Programme, twelve students from LC2 and LC3 were selected to take part in a series of Friday morning sessions. Following several weeks of preparation, one team was chosen to represent CLC at a prestigious maths competition held at Pate’s Grammar School in March.

Our students demonstrated not only excellent mathematical ability but also outstanding teamwork and resilience in a highly competitive environment. The competition was incredibly close, and we are delighted to share that the team achieved an impressive third-place finish, missing out on second place by just three marks.
