This academic year, CLC students have continued to demonstrate exceptional academic curiosity and commitment, achieving remarkable success across a range of disciplines.
From innovations on an international stage to outstanding results in tournaments, competitions and exams, these achievements reflect both the intellectual rigour and the joy of learning that define College.
SFC2 students Audrey, Mofe, and Angelyn were selected as semi-finalists in the global Technovation Girls’ Competition 2025, making them the only UK team to qualify.
Their project, HerProsperity, is a menstrual health app designed to empower teenagers through accessible education and stigma-free tracking.
Driven by a desire to improve digital resources for young girls, the team conducted extensive primary research, including interviews with healthcare professionals and surveys of over 120 students.
Their app features three innovative components: HerTracker, a cycle monitoring tool with journaling and motivational messages; HerMind, a gamified learning space to debunk myths and build knowledge; and HerForum, a safe, inclusive platform for discussion.
Their journey has been one of creativity, resilience and teamwork, and they now look ahead to beta testing and further development.

At the start of the term, the Drama Department were proud to celebrate that all 44 students who sat a LAMDA exam last term achieved distinction. Among them, eight UC5 students were awarded a perfect 100% score (Josephine, Jocasta, Anna, Eva and Hana) for Grade 6 Musical Theatre, and three LC3 students (Yamisoto, Cecilia and Joko) for Grade 3 Group Acting.
These achievements highlight not only performance excellence but also the confidence, collaboration and teamwork that flourish at College.

A team of five SFC2 Economic students, Betty, Cynthia, Chloe, Angelina and Amy, followed their success in the UK National Finals with a stellar performance at the European Round this July. They were awarded First Place Team in Europe, alongside multiple Individual Gold and Silver Awards.
The competition challenged students across three demanding components, including Fundamentals, Deep Comprehension and Thinking and Innovation. The team will now represent Europe at the Global Finals later in the term

Carmela (SFC2) received a commendation from the University of Glasgow for her outstanding essay on The Implementation of the Historical Memory Law in Spain. Her work was recognised as one of the top 15 essays submitted nationally. Congratulations, Carmela!
Jillian (UC4) was awarded a commendation in the prestigious Stephen Spender Prize competition for the second time. Well done, Jillian!
Italian
Anna (SFC2), IB Ab Initio Italian, has received a commendation for her poetry translation from Italian to English in the Stephen Spender Schools Laureate Prize (KS5) for 2025. This is a great achievement and particularly impressive as a multi-lingual learner. We are very proud of her. Congratulations, Anna!
Martha (SFC2) achieved 1st Place in the South West in the UKMT Mathematical Olympiad for Girls 2025. Her performance reflects both analytical excellence and deep mathematical insight. Congratulations, Martha!
The CLC ESU Mace Debate Team, Renee (UC4), Vivi (UC5), Nicola (LC3), Toni (UC5) and Shereen (UC4), competed in this year’s competition and successfully defended the title of Mace Regional Champions for South West and Wales. Well done, all!

SFC2 students Betty, Choe and Amy organised a TEDx CLC Women event, a memorable and thought-provoking experience centred around the theme ‘The Edge of Knowing’, exploring the space where curiosity meets uncertainty. The event brought together six inspiring speakers from UC5 to SFC1 (Ehije, Tosin, Yannie, Georgia, Amy, and Maegan), covering a wide range of topics including medicine, politics, philosophy, history, astronomy and death. Izzy (SFC2) has been successful in gaining a place in the National Youth Choir. She will sing at the Royal Albert Hall on Sunday 7th December, in the My Christmas Orchestral Adventure 2025 production. Well done, Izzy!
This academic year’s Singing Prizes were a remarkable celebration of the vocal artistry and commitment to excellence that characterise singing at CLC. More than 90 performers from LC1 to SFC2 took to the stage, each bringing genuine conviction and musical integrity to each of their songs.

Regina (UC5) won the Uswing Mojing Junior Qualifier with a score of one under par. This qualifies her to play in the Uswing Mojing Junior World Golf Championships and the FCG Callaway World Championships in California next July. Well done, Regina!
Cricket
Congratulations to Georgia (LC2), who has been selected for the U13 Girls County Winter Training Programme. She has also been awarded a U12 Girls Impact Award at the recent Gloucestershire Young Cricketers County Age Group Presentation Evening. Georgia’s impact included three wickets for two runs in three overs! A remarkable performance. Well done, Georgia!
Lacrosse
Charlotte (SFC1) has been selected for the Scotland U20 Lacrosse Squad for the year ahead, an incredible achievement to be playing at the U20 International level while in SFC1. Charlotte was one of only 13 players selected into the top-tier ‘Performance’ squad for Scotland. She will now be part of the core group training for championships next summer. Well done, Charlotte!
Basketball
Congratulations to Isabella (UC4), who has recently been selected by Basketball Wales to join their National Team Under 16s Academy Programme. She also plays for the Bristol Flyers Under 16s and Under 18s National League Premiership teams, and her newly formed Cheltenham Chargers All Girls team.
These achievements follow her phenomenal progress, between 2023 and 2025, through regional and national basketball levels. She has won multiple championships, including the Under 17s Regional Championship and Basketball Interregional Tournament, and represented Basketball England Southwest All Girls Under 15s in their Aspire Programme. Well done, Isabella!
Dance
Congratulations to Xuan Xuan (SFC1), who travelled to Brazil to compete in the prestigious RAD Fonteyn 2025 Competition, alongside 36 of the world’s top non-professional dancers. She spent four days having intensive coaching classes in São Paulo before performing beautifully in the semi-finals.
These achievements follow her increadible success over the summer when she took part in several dance competitions. At the Hong Kong Challenge Cup, she earned the Gold Award and was named Best Senior Performer in her age category. She went on to become a finalist at the International Ballet Grand Prix in Singapore, excelling in ballet and contemporary, where she reached the finals, receiving two scholarships and a sponsor prize. Xuan Xuan concluded her summer as a finalist in the Hong Kong Ballet Group Stars Awards. Well done, Xuan Xuan!
