Co-curricular Highlights
9th October 2025

Since the start of term, our co-curricular programme has been buzzing with curiosity and creativity. From cultural celebrations and culinary workshops to outdoor adventures, exotic animal encounters and musical performances, each activity has offered our pupils the opportunity to try something new, make memories and immerse themselves in CLC life.

Activities Fair

We kicked things off with the annual activities fair, where students had the opportunity to explore all the clubs and societies on offer. The event was nothing short of a smash hit, with a flurry of sign-ups and smiles on pupils’ faces as they raced around from stall to stall.

Adventure Days

LC1 and LC3 pupils spent time at Boundless Outdoors UK and Blackwell Adventure, building on their confidence, having fun and growing their friendships away from College. Stepping outside of their comfort zone, they had the opportunity to get to know new peers and make new friends in these amazing shared experiences.

Animals in Hands

LC1 and SFC1 students enjoyed a fascinating visit from Mo, who introduced them to an array of rescued creatures from around the world. The session offered pupils the chance to learn about animal behaviour, conservation and responsible care, all while experiencing the thrill of seeing wildlife up close.

Biology Week

Biology Week at CLC was a vibrant celebration filled with engaging talks, hands-on activities, and creative events that united students across year groups in exploring the wonders of life sciences. From a talk about biodegradable innovations and frog dissections to alpaca visits and butterfly release, the week sparked curiosity, connection, and a deeper appreciation for the natural world.

Mexican Cooking Workshop

LC3, UC4, and UC5 took part in a vibrant Mexican cooking workshop held in the Food and Nutrition kitchen, where they had the opportunity to prepare tacos entirely from scratch, building on their teamwork and food preparation skills. The sound of traditional Mexican mariachis playing in the background added an authentic and festive atmosphere.

House Music

The first week of Autumn Term saw the return of CLC’s beloved House Music competition. The Princess Hall came alive as all seven Junior Houses took to the stage, performing songs by Coldplay, Sia, Rihanna and Bastille, each performance arranged and choreographed entirely by pupils. Led by UC5, the event showcased remarkable creativity and teamwork, making it one of the most uplifting highlights of this term.

Green Car Race

Our Greenpower Race Team travelled to Liverpool to compete in the Greenpower heat at the iconic Aintree circuit. Competing in two fiercely contested races, the team secured third and fourth-place finishes, marking their best results to date.

Sport

As always, sport at CLC remains a pillar of co-curricular life. From traditional fixtures to house competitions, students have been able to develop resilience, teamwork and competitive spirit through a myriad of activities. Some highlights include this year’s House Squash and House Running.
