Last week, our LC3 sculpture students and UC4 art scholars visited Hauser & Wirth, Somerset, to see the ‘Niki de Saint Phalle & Jean Tinguely, Myths & Machines’ exhibition.

Following last week’s UC4 Scholars’ Recital, the LC3 Music Scholars’ Concert showcased our seven Music Award holders in an equally impressive display.

This academic year, a total of 43 students applied to universities in the United States, including four members of the Class of 2025 who submitted post‑qualification applications.

On Tuesday, all UC4 Drama students participated in a workshop led by a professional practitioner from the theatre company Paper Birds.

In the latter half of the Autumn Term, students took part in the 2025 UK Bebras Computational Thinking Challenge. This is a timed challenge that consists of a set of short tasks that are fun, engaging, and based on real problems faced by computer scientists.

CLC's HerProsperity Team has been selected as one of the semi-finalists in the Technovation Girls’ Competition, the only team qualified from the United Kingdom.

SFC English Literature students concluded their Half Term with a visit to the Cheltenham Literature Festival in Montpellier Gardens.

Friday 17th October marked the end of the Half Term for most pupils at College, but not all, as 10 SFC1 students began their practice expedition for the Gold Award of the Duke of Edinburgh Scheme.

Over the last couple of weeks, LC1 and LC3 pupils spent time at Boundless Outdoors UK and Blackwell Adventure building on their confidence, having fun and growing their friendships away from College.

This October, Cheltenham Ladies’ College is proud to celebrate Black History Month (BHM) under the national theme “Standing Firm in Power and Pride”.

On Saturday 4th October 2025, SFC1 students and Art Scholars took part in a workshop with the artist Jeanette Barnes, who works with charcoal to produce vast and exciting cityscapes.

We celebrated Biology Week with an exciting range of activities that brought our CLC community together to explore the wonders of Biology.

During Biology Week, we were fortunate to welcome Guild member Dr Olivia Ahn, who spoke about her inspiring journey from CLC to medical school, and ultimately to creating the world’s first flushable sanitary pad.

On Wednesday 1st October, a group of enthusiastic UC5-SFC2 ‘hispanists’ went on a vibrant cultural adventure in the heart of Cheltenham.

Following their success in the UK National Finals round of the Economics World Cup in April, a team of five SFC2 Economics students represented the UK in the European Round in July, successfully leading CLC to the Global Finals.

The CLC Drama Department is delighted to report that all 44 students, who entered for a LAMDA exam last term, achieved a distinction.

Each summer, our SFC2 Scholars embark upon a research project, guided by a professional mentor who is an expert in their field of choice or given industry. Upon returning to College in September, they are asked to produce a poster summarising their research to present at our annual Academic Conference.

On Monday 15th September a member of Guild, Mingma Hughes, brought her theatre company, Troubadour Stageworks, to run a series of workshops for some of our GCSE Drama Students and the Lower College Academic Scholars.

On Saturday 13th September, we were thrilled to welcome Animals in Hands, its passionate owner, Mo and his incredible collection of rescued animals to College.

Some of our GCSE students took part in Jamie Oliver's Guinness World Record attempt to get the most people online cooking live alongside him.
